Hmmm... Is there any sort of mp3 player on the market that's made for young kids? Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but it just seems too much to buy a $200 music player for a 7-year-old... Plus, it can be fragile, and maybe there are models made for kids that are more sturdy and have volume level controls built in...? And won't be as liable to get stolen?

I'm not worried about them breaking an ipod. They use mine all the time and Kayla actually showed ME some of the features it has. The girls are really responsible when it comes to electronic things. They have had their own Gamecube and computer for a few years now. Last year for their birthdays they all got the Nintendo DS and honestly that is the only thing i was worried about them taking care of because they are rather fragile but they have done really well with it.

My issue is the cost. Right now things are really tight for us and we have a few travel things to pay for also. But, as I told Will.. just because we screwed up the finances doesnt be the kids should have to suffer. And its the ONLY thing they have asked for. Now a days kids are so spoiled with these huge xmas lists and getting everything on those lists that if my kids are only asking for this one thing, I am gonna make it happen :)

Actually, I'm not a fan of the iPods but only because of the whole proprietary software stuff.

Last Christmas time (during all the good sales deals) James bought himself a Creative Zen Nano Plus and he just loves it.

And the best part is that it'll play all kinds of formated music.

And also... congratulations to your Eagles! My Chargers did well too. woot!

Well, found out today that because hubby works for AT&T and they are now affiliated with Apple... we do get a discount. How much that discount is, we have yet to find out. I also have some 'other' options to fall back on ;)
