I can't believe the guy is being so cool about it. I'd be ticked. A trip as TAXABLE income? It's not even income! Sheesh...

Well, the IRS taxes all winnings as income, just like they tax scholarships as income. But yeah. I wish he would take up a collection or something. I'd totally pitch in a few bucks so that he could still go (and I'm severely anti-money-hand-out-charity, so that's saying something for me).
