i have giardiasis. an intestinal parasite! my favorite part is that it is popularly known as beaver fever. hahaha!! the whole situation isn't really funny, but it kind of is. anyway, i have to take these really intense anti-biotics for 10 days that will hopefully kill the beast ( Read more... )

I'm sure you didn't do it on purpose. Is this the something that's been ongoing and undiagnosed? Or is it new? If it's new, can you please put a list of everywhere you've eaten in the past 3 or so weeks, so I can avoid them? K, thanks!

one of my friends got that when we were in brazil, but she was fine after a week of taking stuff for it. i hope it doesn't take too long to kill it off!

a week isn't too bad. i've already been suffering for a while now so i think i can handle a week. i don't know about another month or so though. haha!

Is this what was going on with you last year too, do you think? How does one get Beaver Fever other thab from drinking river water? Good thing they cd identify what's wrong. Not knowing was awful, I know.

they thought i had one last year but the test results showed that i didn't. and i have no idea how i got this one! it really grosses me out to think about though.

At my work before law school we used to test municipal water supplies for both that and cryptosparidium.

All I'm going to say is, don't go to Midland.
