I doubt peta would go for it, knowing them they'd decide it was inhumane treatment of test tube cells, after all, they're just not cute. If they were cute, people wouldn't eat them. Maybe peta will rename the results test tube kitties and they can have a party with the seakittens :-)

Actually PETA has consistently stood up for NON-cute animals. It's just about the only thing I can find to admire about them.

I do agree about the non-cute animals, I just think they're a bit bonkers with the whole 'if people think of fish as sea kittens they won't eat them' thing.

I say HELL YES! (and PETA officially says Yes, although some members are uncomfortable about it)

I meant to post this a while back, but it's a great list of all the reasons "lab grown" meat is better than the real thing:

Some of it is hippy dippy stuff, but reducing the land usage (including growing it locally) and a more healthy product have it sold on me.

If they can grow meat in a lab with the same taste and texture and at a reasonable cost, I'd go for it. If it's not as good as the real thing though, no.
