i don't give a damn

Jan 21, 2009 12:37

The number of people that i actually respect,
are hard to come by,
yet a couple of hours just go by,
and he's a person that i've really come to admire and revere.

Something he said made so much sense...

we've always heard about how we should never let history repeat itself
but before we accomplish that! here's the truth:
Whoever that does not know his or her history,
is doomed to let history repeat itself.

let's just say that we always say we should look forward...
never look back..
BULLSHIT.

it's when we look back and reflect what's gone wrong
that we understand how we've gone wrong..
and then can we devise a plan to never let history repeat itself.

Love is used to freely nowadays.
i love you. you love me.
but do you actually mean what you say?
honestly. swear on your life that it's 100% SINCERE

that's what we honestly lack.
sincerity.
we do things out of obligation, or because we plan it.
but what comes out of it?
do you actually feel uplifted?
a sense of satisfaction perhaps?
things are easier said then done.
so why not save the CRAP of WORDS that we are most likely to spill out.
and focus and channel your energy into making it happen.

here's the thing,
i don't believe in regrets.
to me it's just a word that i would rather not exist in my life.
i'll work hard to make it possible.
rather viewing them as regrets,
it's a lesson learnt, something that is meant to be kept as a reminder
on what life really is.

SPACE.
that's just what most of us really need.
living in packed urbanised and densely populated districts.
we lack the breathing space to just feel around and be ourselves.
given the current tribulations and pains my cousin is facing,
whatever it is, i won't say a thing and just offer her my hand.
give her time and just to let her know my hand will always reach out to her when she needs it.
and she'll stand up again.
Life will be a challenge.
the future is ultimately the darkest place we inadvertently have to advance to,
unless our life is suddenly cut short.
but while we still have the breath of life,
make a point to voice yourself out.

it's no wonder why people are feeling empty,
or unworthy, or unsatisfied.
the world is a black hole that we've been swallowed into..
whether we are willing or not.
the lack of privacy, the lack of communication.
if we call modern communication (the world of cellphones and instant messaging)
a channel to express ourselves and communicate with the ones we ''love''....
BULLSHIT.

even if we communicate on the phone...
a string of silence...(that's what always happens to me---and i apologise)
there's no heartfelt or genuine feelings in that conversation.
as my mum always says, it's never to difficult to just pick up the phone
and call the person. and if we always rely on sms-es, you'll ultimately forget the person's voice,
or it'll just be too late.
Lesson learnt.

we're too afraid to be burnt, to be scalded.
that's why we never dare to dip our toes in the pool of uncertainty.
why not just DIVE IN.
be INVOLVED.
don't let it slip through your fingers.

on hindsight, never lose sight of where you're going.
we give and take in life.
people are always out there to get the best bargain.
but we reap what we sow.
so we take what we give.
nothing more nothing less.

on this winding road to Jerusalem.
i've taken up the challenge.
to reach out to everyone.
be blunt, be straightforward. there's no time to be wasted on drawing up circles
to just get to that one point you're trying to express.
as he has pointed out the challenge to me ----- Be a real friend to a friend.
i gladly take up this challenge.

thank you uncle cedric:)
i may sound like some ''demented'' person who's speaking like an old granny,
but i don't give a damn.
i'm just a soon-to-be seventeen year old
who's on her way to a new chapter in life
and i'd like to decorate it with vibrance, hope, sincerity and LOVE.
