nino's voice is so soothing i think. when he sings it's like you can feel what he's feeling. very soulful and heartfelt. <333

and riida can really sing well! i love his take me far away solo.

sho's voice is clear and crisp even when he's rapping. he enunciates well. XD and he sounds nice when singing a ballad too.

aiba's voice is very playful and it really shows his personality.

jun's voice is my least fave but i agree that he gives arashi a distinct sound. somehow it's not the same without his nasalness ne? XD

I agree with a lot of things you wrote, but I think you should refrain from deciding who the "second best" is because there's a lot of debate about that. Although Oh-chan will always be the undisputed first, many people have their own opinions considering who is second best. And if you really look at the technicalities, Neeners can sing high, but his vocal technique is lacking. I've been studying this in school for the past few years and his kind of "vibrato" is a little more tension than vibrato. If you listen to stuff like his cover on Orion, while I like it better than the original, I can't deny he's straining. =/ And from analyzing their lives, Riida and MatsuJun (and Sho-chan at times) have a lot of musicianship as well, not just Neeners. They do a lot of proper word stresses and dynamics during their lives necessary for musicianship (for example, AAA2008 Sirius performance, Jun-kun's solo part after the instrumental) which Neeners only seems to fully, fully implement when he sings his solo songs ( ... )

Yup... don't worry, I don't mind...It's oK, that's your opinion and you have a point there...

It's just that I said it he's the second best because his voice quality is that close to Mr. Ohno than anybody else, and I believe so too that with regards to vocal skills, he's great, and he knows more about music than any other member does, it just so happen that Mr. Ohno was born with a very very good voice that he doesn't need so much knowledge about music, with that alone, he'll sure to stand out in his own good way.
Yah, I heard that too...Mr. Matsumoto is good there, it's interesting that everybody is growing up and improving. They start to take some things that are new to them, (way to go Mr. Matsumoto!)

uhmm anyway...Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts...^^,

I am not going to debate about what you wrote up there...because I agree to 70% of what I read so far....but I almost laughed out loud when I read Jun's voice analysis...Have you ever wondered why he was paired with them in the first place? If you haven't then.......well maybe its to balance the out- of- tunish sound? (It's just my opinion)....Anyways, I don't find Jun all that bad. Yup he has, has his good singing days especially with low keyed notes... He just needs to be given those kind of songs......And sometimes its annnoying, I mean not his singing voice but the fact that some fans say that Jun's voice sound so great when he sings with Ohno. Isn't it obvious that its ohno who balances the tune during their duets and not the other way around?....I'm not biased here
just stating a fact. (<<<<

Actually, for me, Mr. Matsumoto is not annoying, it's just that his is unusually high and unique, he needs control on that, yup, actually he's always being supported by the other members...hmmm actually, all of them support (without covering) each other....
i hope to see Mr. Ohno come out of his shell too...^^, (how about a sexy, badboy side?? sounds interesting, ne?)
thank you very much for sharing too...^^

Well, I agree with you. I always wondered why Jun in the last few albums has been given lots of main vocals part although he is not talented vocally. Then I realized that the reason may be because of his raise of popularity after Hanadan that they must make him sing more to satisfy his fans. That's why they making him singing with Ohno so that Ohno can cover up any mistake that he does.

No offense to Jun but I always thought that he's not very good live (well, of course Sirius perf at AAA 2008 is brilliant). His nasal voice sometimes gets in the way and he can't really hit the high notes (Like in Love so sweet lives). >_Oh-chan is great at lives that it's super hard to tell whether he is lip-sych or not but the members who always given the cues that Arashi is lip-syncing are Jun and Nino. xD Shoot, no matter how I adore Nino's voice since it makes me feel safe but he is really bad at lip-sync. I wish Oh-chan will teach them how to do it perfectly. xDDDD ( ... )
