jesperanda has stumbled into bed, nursing an oncoming cold or throat ailment. (Poor thing.) So, I'm sitting a bit off to the side, softly clicking away at my keyboard to pass the time until I can settle down to crawl in and get a bit of sleep, myself.

I'm on vacation for the next week -- finally. I've been putting time off, off, because there's been so much assigned to get done over the summer for the team of two I'm on at work, and because the other guy needed time off immediately afterwards to attend Pennsic. (He participates in war, wielding an épée.) So, now that he's back, I don't go back to work until Monday. In the meantime ... well, there's not much to say, really; but, since I'm here ... and, if you really must pry ...

jesperanda and I spent the weekend out of the apartment as much as possible. On Saturday, we spent the afternoon at a different shopping center, where she picked up some new clothes. For work. Afterwards, we ate at Outback. She had shrimp; I had steak and baked potato. We both had salad. And, we got the Bloomin' onion :9 and had some of the bread. The poor waiter -- he must have refilled my drink at least ten times; at one point, drinks were coming two at a time. *chuckle* Dunno why I was so thirsty.

On Sunday, we rushed over to an outlet shoe store -- where we were promptly, but courteously, reminded as we walked through the door: "We close in 15 minutes." -- to find new shoes to go with the new clothes. (Guys: Don't ask me. I don't understand how it works. All I've picked up on is: If you get new clothes, you've got to get new shoes, because old shoes don't go with new clothes. *g*) Afterwards, we stopped at Chili's. She had a sizzling steak fajita; I went for the chicken and swiss sandwich with honey mustard dressing. The chocolate chip paradise pie, for dessert, was good too. :9

Today -- on Monday -- we stayed in, because jesperanda was feeling a bit more under the weather. I prepared French toast for us for breakfast, heated up some Campbell's tomato soup for lunch, and prepared baked chicken, potatoes, salad, and reheated some of the leftover Bloomin' onion, for dinner and appetizer.

Tomorrow's a bit busy. jesperanda works tomorrow. I have a doctor's appointment. I really should, while I'm out, go and renew my car registration prior to yet another year of my life passing me by the beginning of next month. I have to stop at the grocery store, too, to refill the water and pick up a few items. And I should stop at the bank and open a CD (not the musical type -- the interest-bearing type).

I figure, the rest of the week, I need to get my apartment clean, and I should catch up on movies that have found their way into the budget theater ($1.00/flick) near my place. (In particular: Fantastic Foreplay. Err ... "Four." Fantastic Four.) Also, I need to call at least one townhome developer, to see about prices. My apartments are probably going to be sold soon, and housing is ... well, as Greenspan put it: "frothy." Places are typically US$250,000 - US$400,000 here. At the low end. For a condo. Needless to say, I can't afford a low-priced condo here. And if there are no apartments here to rent because they've all been converted to low-priced condos ...
