I WILL update soon for real.

But for now, a question.

For the PHOTOGRAPHERS on my list (capitalized for attention grabbing purpose only lol), who shoot with digital:

I just got a new digital SLR as shooting digital is unfortunately cheaper.

How do you print your pictures? On your desktop? Do you take them somewhere? Any advice?

Walgreens has this thing online where you can upload pictures onto their website on your account, and you can purchase prints (or cards, mugs, etc) of your pictures. You can either pick 'em up at the Walgreens you want, or have 'em delivered to your house. It's really handy. Let me know if you want the website, and can't wait for the update!! =)

Whatever you do, do not print them from your desktop or any service which is strictly online, such as SnapFish or ShutterFly or whatever the hell they're calling themselves.

Try to take it to a more specialized store, like a Ritz or Wolf Camera. They have excellent quality printing, a bit pricier than drug store but much MUCH better quality. They're pros, for the most part. Not hourly old ladies who've been working at the drug store photofinishing counter since the days of the Kodak Brownie.

Ritz/Wolf also has excellent poster sized enlargements (11x14 - 24x36) for good prices. Check them out.
They also have an online ordering service, but you pick up in-store so you're sure of what you're getting and can let them know if they fucked up when you pick it up. They'll usually redo it on the spot if you find a problem.

No better way to print DSLR pix. Which camera did you get?

Thanks for the advice, I really didn't want to rely on someone like Target or the such. I'm definately going to look into them when it comes time to print.

I got the Canon Rebel XTi. I was torn, because I had used a nikon SLR for years and I felt like a traitor of sorts switching. But I had come into a Canon AE1 film slr and I only heard good things about Canon and their digital cameras...and I'm glad I made the switch because I love it!

Costco is ok, but they mess with the color, even when you tell them not to. There are some good mail-order places out there that will even go so far as to print on professional paper.

Hi dear!! Well now I'm lurking you and added you as well. :) Thank you so much for your comment! I would have replied there, but I was forced to delete the post by the LJ abuse team. Hmm. I'd like to somehow get back at the turd heads (not the LJ abuse team... the other turd head), but it's not really worth it. So that's the end of those posts. Whoo!

I made a lot of new friends, though, and I'll keep lurking the community. I guess I just won't post? :S

It just ticks me off. Sorry, I won't rant here, although I was about to. I mean seriously. It's just so stupid. I suppose maybe I can post if I censor. And then I can make a big issue about how censorship was forced on me and start another frenzy. Ha! :) Oh, drama. I could live without it probably.

Sorry, this is long, but hi, thanks again for what you said; I really appreciate it. :)
