You're misunderstanding the point of the book. Nobody really matters except for Bella and the Cullens. Rene is never going to know what happened to her daughter (Bella) because Bella never speaks to her again. Nessie's not going to have any friends because in Twilight, friendship doesn't matter. Or family, really, for that matter. Except the Cullens.

Yep, my problems with the books in a nutshell.
