I’ve cracked the secret to the laundry room door portal! You just close your eyes, twitch your tail, and leap headfirst at the clear plastic part of the door. It’s a little tricky because if you miss it makes a big rattling, thumping noise and you smack your head on the side of the door. I’m still fine-tuning the process - but it does work

I too have noticed the portal's tail-whacking tendancies. Having a backyard must be worth it, though.
