scarletts_awry and I just watched "Yahrzeit" this afternoon.

(We are just now catching up on the last six or seven episodes of CSI:NY since we didn't watch them when they originally aired, and we started on NY once we finished our Sunday afternoon re-watch of Leverage S1 ( Read more... )

Considering I'm at LEAST... 15? behind, you're better off than me. They're all on my Tivo waiting for me to have time to watch & GET them.

New pictures of the little rat today. :-) We not that photogenic. Still have stubbly legs.

Hopefully you'll be able to catch up sometime soon. :-) I didn't have much time to think about missing the show while the season was still going on, but now that I'm finally catching up, I'm really enjoying it.

Sooo...are you going to post the new pictures of the Rat?

I can't wait to read your reactions to the rest of the season, hee hee!! Watching the end of season shows via laptop streaming versus TV screen had a deeper emotional (more personal?) impact. I enjoyed being surprised when CSI:NY did not leak the whole show... all the guest actors performances were rich & courageous; they just killed me. It would have been great to be a fly on the wall & listen to the actor's discussions/thought processes on developing their characters. I thought of my father in WW II Normandy when Mac read the last email and watched the clip about his Dad. It was amazing to be in the 'observer seat' and watch the Mac Taylor character 'discover' the clip was about his Dad.
Oh, the end of season shows are opportunities for Mac interactions (emotion! / fellow soldier) with Danny, Stella and Don... o_O

Thank you! :-) I don't know how much I'll be able to backtrack to episodes I missed writing about, but I would like to talk more about this one at the very least. It was a really good episode and, I think, one of the best ones they've done in a long time, including great performances from everyone concerned. And yeah, it would be really interesting to be able to learn more about the processes the actors go through with character development and motivation. I'm particularly interested in Hawkes in this episode in that respect.

Definitely looking forward to the rest of the season, too!

Thank you! :-) I'm really not back to writing, but I would like to talk more about this episode if I get the chance.

It's interesting how many folks I know (including myself) who ended up about a quarter to a half season behind on CSI:NY this year. I'm sure there's something significant in that, just not sure what.

I will say that "Yahrzeit" was an amazing episode. I was blown away by the acting and the writing. Both Gary Sinise and Hill Harper impressed me in this episode in a way they hadn't before in the show. (Wow that was an akward sentence.)

I'll be interested to read your thoughts (even if it's not a full review) on the other episodes as well.

Thank you! :-) I don't know how much I'll be able to say about the other episodes, but I'd like to talk a little more about this one, at least.

For me, my first inclination was to say that the falling behind was mostly due to a combination of outside/personal factors -- but there do seem to be a lot of people who similarly missed out on the show this past season, and I know that I have been feeling frustrated with certain aspects of it, unfortunately. Not enough to make me stop watching entirely, but enough that it ended up no longer being one of the few shows I had to watch live, rather than time-shift.

This was a fabulous episode, though, one of the best they've done in ages. I'm really interested in Hawkes' arc in particular.

This was the one episode last season that I had really wanted to see your thoughts on, so I really hope you do write a review later.

Thank you! :-) I'd definitely like to do this one at the very least, even if I'm not able to backtrack to any of the rest of the past season.
