Tomorrow is the funeral for dad's cousin in her hometown. The service only, she will be buried later close to where her son lives now. I took a day off (with all the holidays, vacation, now this, I rarely work a full 5-day-week lately) to attend. It's strange, she was the last tie we had to the town, where my dad's from. I tend to be self-conscious and not realize my, uh, value, so to speak. But I finally asked for a raise at work and was told we'd need to have an evaluation talk first. Well. My parents came back from their latest cruise today. Mom messaged from Munich where they're spending the night to say that dad had forgotten his backpack on the train from the airport into the city. I have booked a train ride to Sweden for this year's hiking trip in June. Hooray! I might have said it before, but I am a bit of a train nerd. Not in the interested in the mecanics way or anything, just in the riding trains way. I also like ships and bridges and water. So this is pretty awesome for me. I bought an electronic device from Amazon. It works perfectly and all, but: The instructions say it blinks green when charging (which it does) and then lights up constantly green when it's fully charged (which it does not). And I've had it plugged in for way longer than the two hours it's supposed to take. As far as I can tell, it does charge fine ( Read more... ) -
