its sounds pretty scary, but I dont think you guys should be too worried just yet (I just finished emt training, so some of what you're talking about sounds familiar). heart palpitations are pretty creepy, especially for older folks. your dad definetly did the right thing to check himself in just to be on the safe side. however, it doesnt sound immediately life threatening, or else he'd a) be feeling quite a bit worse and b) the doctors would probably be doing a whole lot more than a cat scan of his chest.
try not to worry tooo much, ok? take care.

Thanks, that helps a lot. They keep running tests, but they haven't found anything actually wrong with him yet, and I figure that's a good sign.
