Is it considered foul play to dismantle a political sign you don't agree with?

You see, there is - well, I should say, was - one of those obnoxious political signs on my street. Now, I can usually just ignore those, but this one was pissing me off for for a couple reasons. First of all, it said "YES on 8" in big annoying letters, with a little ( Read more... )

Yes it is considered foul play.

Freedom of political speech is important, and it must be respected, even if you disagree with it.

How would you feel is someone took it upon themselves to tear off say...your bumper stickers?

If you felt it was illegal, then you should have gone through the proper procedures.

If you take it upon yourself to deny other people's freedom of speech, you have no moral high ground to stand upon when you attempt to have a little of your own.

I don't really like bumper stickers, so I don't have any to tear off.

I know, not the point. I understand where you're coming from. In fact, I agree with you. It's not something I've ever done before, or that I plan on making a habit of doing. I'm all for freedom of speech, even if it does piss me off sometimes. I'm usually disgustingly good about following rules and laws.

I was angry. I felt like doing something bad. That's pretty much all there is to it.
