Finally watched HOUND!

Jan 12, 2012 14:13

I need to watch it again, but these were my preliminary thoughts on it.

  • Sherlock. Overacting much? Both the opening bit and the mind palace bit. Just - CALM YOUR TITS (I learned this phrase recently and was amused by it.)
  • MIND PALACE. Really? Really. Not the concept of it, it's a real memory technique, but the twitching and flailing and ELVIS! The whole time I was like ASDFJKL; WHAT IS HAPPENING STOP IT STOP IT.
  • The Wolf Boy from Being Human! I didn't know he was going to be in this ep and the very first shot of him standing alone in the woods was quite giggle-inducing.
  • The whole scene in the pub after Sherlock's inhaled the gas. I was near shouting at John, "John. John. John! Stop and look at Sherlock. He is not well!" Yet he kept going on, even got upset when Sherlock snapped. This was the first time ever I felt bad for Sherlock when he's with John, and definitely an OOC moment for John imo. Unless - was he under the influence from the gas? I don't think that's the case but need to re-watch.
  • The lab scene where John hides in the cage and later when we saw what really happened. It was funny and outrageous at the same time. I wanted to ask Sherlock "What is wrong with you?!"; to which he naturally
would have replied, "There is nothing wrong with me".
  • The cute Asian soldier. It felt a bit not good while I was getting all googly eyed over him because he looked far too young. But cute nonetheless.

NOW. LESTRADE. AND MYCROFT.

Every time they are on screen I was basically acting like this:

And my very good friend who had the misfortune of watching it with me was like CALM DOWN GURL THERE IS NO NEED FOR HYSTERIA.

But how could I be anything but spazy? After all this time and ASiB?

When Lestrade finally shows up, the very image of rakish handsomeness, I may or may not have shrieked. Then he went ahead and said what he said, making my Mystrade world explode. In the BEST way possible.

Only two short scenes of Mycroft, but I swooned like no fangirl has ever swooned before.

All I want to say is that Gatiss should write all the episodes.

Okay. Well, next up is Reichenbach, and at least the Tumblr world is full of preemptive depression; I know this even without venturing into the Sherlock tag. Personally I don't think I will be too devastated, since nothing short of Sherlock actually dying would cause me to despair; and I seriously doubt that Gatiss and Moffat would be insane enough to attempt something at which even Doyle failed.

Unless, of course, they show me devastated Lestrade or Mycroft, in which case I am f@#$ed.
