I've come across this interesting company, based in Watertown: BCI Labs. I would like to email them but I'm not sure what to say. I want to find out more about possible careers in the field, what the work is like, how the industry works, about the local job market, and how to get into the field. Why not an old-fashioned respectful and gracious request for an informational interview? It's low-pressure, since you're not asking for a job, you're just scoping out the industry. People are usually happy to talk to newbies about their careers and job fields over tea or lunch.
