IATSE Local 1 began striking at 10am saturday.

IATSE = International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.

Local 1 = stagehands who work on Broadway.

:( this really blows. everyone, everywhere is striking. it's hard and it's unfair that these people aren't getting what they deserve. i hope things are worked out soon and that they can come to an agreement!

I wish you and the union all the best, and I hope IATSE's demands are met. As a former USWA member I am familiar with job actions such as this, and I do hope that there is a quick resolution.
