the GREs

Jan 07, 2008 18:20

well, i think i did ok.  i took the GREs about a month ago, and...

600 on verbal (87%)
610 on quantitative (49%)
6/6 on analytical writing (96%).

i think that will probably get me into grad school.  i'm no mathematician, apparently.

Yeah, that should do it. Grad school is less predicated on GREs and more towards your overall academic career and extracurriculars.

As for the quantitative, what happens is that all the hardcore nerds going for the particle physics degrees drive the percentiles up to the impossible.

yeah, my friend paul, who is going for materials science at rutgers, told me the same thing. he got like a 750 on the verbal and a 480 or so on the verbal. dont know how well he did on the writing part, but he said specifically that a score of 700+ is more common on the math part. at the same time, im right in the middle where i am.

i think my 15 years of taekwondo and B average will work out to an acceptance somewhere. no wheres that clown school application...
