Incidentally, having known you, even as minimally as I do, over these past six or seven years, I could never believe that you were the sort of person who would personally renege on such an important agreement. As you are my first, best example of the Icelandic mindset, it stands to reason that your country would likewise not seek to do so. If I had read those headlines anywhere else, I would have immediately thought of you and dismissed them as impossible. That's how much integrity you hold with me.
The entitlement they have is outrageous. They fucked up so badly here in the US, and when the government gave them piles of money to so they could keep balance sheets in the right and not collapse, and stimulate the economy by giving car loans and mortgages (that was the line they fed the public anyway) they whined incessantly about restrictions on the money. And there weren't many at all, it was mostly just 'you can't give yourselves gigantic bonuses with this money, you actually have to use it for lending.'
