that girl sounds like jerk-face. i hate people in art class who try to talk like their super-intellectual. sometimes art just shouldn't be discussed in those sorts of terms (and YES, its a CLASS, i KNOW, but still.)
if she says something like that to you, you should tell her she's getting caught up in society's view of what an artist should SOUND like, instead of following what an artist's role in society really should be!
