WHOA! Cliffhanger!!!!

That second to last paragraph is a killer. And the 10 Things Never To Say are spot-on.

Yeah, i sneak in a little bromance every now and again.

The cliffhanger is not foreshadowing a big tragic angst-y thing, I promise. It serves a story-advancing purpose.

"Wilson would never recall what he answered. He would never be able to pinpoint, exactly when, or why, he had handed over the responsibility of loving House to this woman.

Thank you Stevney. Loved this chapter.

Wilson, of course, is wrong here: he's never relinquished the loving of House, he's only sharing it.

Argh....no fair!

The list of 10 things was wonderfully funny. And Cuddy's dialogue was perfect: the right blend of exasperation, understanding and love.

But...that cliffhanger...we need to know what happens next!

I'll try to update this weekend. Meantime, let me assure you that the cliffhanger resolution is not tragic, and that House and Cuddy are not the only ones who learn something about themselves in this story.

Thanks for reading!

Cuddy and Wilson are friends-in-law, but there is also an undercurrent, beneath all their layers of resentment and House-related competition, of genuine compassion for each other. They have a lot of insecurities and issues in common, so in a House-less world they'd understand each other pretty well, I think. House is lazy, as well as clever, in the predatory way he staffs his department; Wilson, who never met an "I told you so" he didn't love, would not be able to resist the temptation to remind Cuddy that that's a lot less endearing from the victim's point of view.
