Excellent addition to the incomparable sharkverse! Thank you so much for updating. I particularly enjoyed the exchange between Tiger!Mom Blythe and Tiger!Wife Cuddy. Hilarious and fiercely on target gibes from both sides.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. That exchange between Cuddy and Blythe was difficult to write with just the right blend of vicious and cordial. I hope it hit the mark for you.
House would be the same kind of landlord as he is a boss -- and April's able to put up with both.
I'm writing Blythe as strong enough to have been the mother of Greg and the wife of John, so she ain't no cupcake, She's not evil, she just sees what she wants to see. She's just as cutting as Arlene at times, but she's able to put a pleasant face on it. Think Julia Sugarbaker, only craftier.
Oh how I miss those Sugarbaker gals, and the late, lovely Dixie Carter! Your description just nails Blythe for me (I've only seen her 1st onscreen appearance, so don't have much canon to judge by). Vicious and cordial, perfect.
I always enjoy reading other people's reactions/descriptions of Cuddy, and Thomas's regarding her protectiveness etc. were wonderful. Cuddy radiates "He's mine, and don't you hurt him! (That's my job!)" She's scary, but so is Blythe in her own way. You've done a great job through the series to establish that while Cuddy may appear to be the more normal one, we're well aware she's just as messed up as House, but just better at the social niceties.
Marriage vs. burning, well I've never done either so I guess I'll have to reserve judgement. LOL
“I’m sure it has been difficult,” Blythe said primly. “With one of your doctors being shot in the course of his work. Again. You’ve had several opportunities to get accustomed to gunplay directed at Greg in your hospital, of course, but when it happens to someone else’s spouse - or child -- it’s no doubt quite upsetting. Do you believe Doctor Shaeffer’s family will sue for negligence?”
Hee! Tiger!Wife indeed. And I agree with the above poster, that reminds me of the Sugarbakers. Only I don't think Blythe is as inherently nice and/or good inside as Dixie Carter's character.
