“If by ‘one thing’, you mean Wilson’s wuss cat climbed into a heating vent to get away from the mouse -- which in fact was Kristen’s neighbor’s kid’s escaped hamster -- and by ‘another’, you mean, Wilson got stuck in a crawlspace trying to retrieve the cat, and the landlord had to come and pull him out by the ass, then, yeah, that’s precisely what happened.”
I would love to see this happen
Wonderful chapter, you're making me want to go back and reread the sharkverse over again from the beginning but my dissertation's due in on Friday so that might have to wait :/
House and Cuddy trying to be 'normal' is sort of freaky. And clearly, they don't know how to handle it either. Of course, most people don't learn another language in a week - if they keep up the sex ban, who knows what House can take up next?
I know he doesn't see it this way (and no man I know would), but the fact that House's standard in bed is so high is pretty impressive for a 50+ year old with constant pain issues on drugs. That doesn't mean they will ever, ever discuss that One Time though. :) Maybe they could work in a slow dance though, once this temporary medical issue is behind them.
And I love that House calls Rachel "our six year old" (and I'm going to use the word 'buckaroo' more often too). Even if it is to gig Cuddy a little. Sometimes I wonder how Rachel labels House in her life; she never refers to him as her father, and I'm guessing House never adopts her officially, but he's her stepfather in any case. So to hear him sort of 'claim' her is a nice change.

Hello, there! I've just found "Unprotected" and just finished Ch. 2; and I'm loving it!!
One of the first things to attract me to a fanfic is the tag "House/Cuddy established."
Another irresistible feature is "HACHEL"; the peculiar way (your) House and Rachel interact always wins me over. Another treasure wasted by Shore&Co.
BtW, I hope you don't mind, but I've found a 'typo' and you might want to correct it... ... in one of my best laughters reading Ch.2, House says: "Ya vol, mein Frau" ... actually the correct form is MEINE ... in German possessive adjectives have 'gender variations' ... (mein-for man)

She laid her left hand over his;
** their rings touched. **
“You’re always learning, aren’t you?” she asked admiringly.

Thanks for the fun,
