Alaska, Part 1: The Dalton Highway (Fairbanks to Deadhorse and back)

I just got back from Deadhorse, Alaska.  It's a town built on the Arctic Ocean for the oil companies looking to drill in that area.  The town is entirely utilitarian: no frills, few luxuries, and lots of men in Carharts.  The attention the oil companies pay to the environment is phenomenal, as well ( Read more... )

Unfortunately, no. Getting shots of a moving moose with 3/4 cover from a speeding car on a gravel road = fail.

Also, no bear shots. Same problem.

One thing I forgot to mention...

We met a lady from Bham up in Deadhorse. Her name is Debbie, and she used to work at the Leopold while it was still a hotel.
