Of course we missed you. Kudos on the new job with raise, home selling, home buying and all around real life goodies. Sounds like it's been perking along - which yea!
WOW! We are contemplating putting our house up in a few months and I was just praying it'll take less than a year to sell. But 43 days?! Amazing!! Did you do anything special (i.e., staging it) other than cleaning it from top to bottom? :p
The Tigers are SERIOUS contenders this year. :D That's so awesome. :) You guys have the real "Murderer's Row" of lineups. (plus: scary Verlander!! :hides:)
Eeeeee, you're writing fic!!! Would love to read it whenever it's done. :D
I cleaned and then we hired someone (a friends wife) to come in every two weeks to keep it clean, that was really helpful on days when people wanted to come during the workweek and we werent home to straighten up, she could usually swing by and take care of it for us. I packed up about 60% of all my decorative stuff/books/kid stuff. I boxed up most of the kitchen counters and the stuff I had above the cabinets and we removed a loveseat from the living room to make it look bigger. And we painted the master bedroom/bath. And we had a kickass real estate agent. He told us we had the best luck ever with selling houses. Our first one sold in 18 days (granted that was 2001, but still). He joked if he ever was going to sell his house, he would quit claim it to us first!
Oy, I think we are still contenders but man this is painful! But holy...this new pitcher...Galaragga? Something....he is rocking it! Verlander...not so much.
:-) You'll be the first to see it, assuming you are still in the beta business.
Oh, wow...that sounds awesome (that's actually been one of my biggest fears -- I have what amounts to almost a 4-hour daily commute, so I'm always exhausted at the end of the day and in no mood to clean :/ )
See, and I worry about our real estate agent. We're by far the smallest house (2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom) he has on his docket, but he sold us this house, and my husband works at the same school as his wife, etc. So...we're kind of stuck with him. :x He also said we didn't have to paint, or really stage the house beyond clearing out a lot of the clutter. I hope he's right and he's not just blowing us off. :/
(Dude, poor Tigers -- at least you guys seem to be better after a slow start. :) Poor Mitch said the Tigers' beginning of the season is the reason they call Detroit "Hockeytown." :p )
Personally, I hope the Pistons do well in the playoffs!!! :)
And I'm definitely still in the beta business...drop me a line (or a story! :p ) anytime. :D
you know, its really up to you if you want to paint. If you have any "offensive" colors, Id say paint them. We had one offenseive color in the master bathroom, it was seriously sunshine yellow. So we painted the mater bed/bath a nice brown. Clearing clutter is a big one. I'd say pack at least 60% of decorative stuff.
Oy, thats not a good situation. You can always sign the contract for 3 months and then at the end say "well, we've decided to go in a different direction" and find a new agent. In this market you NEED a good agent.
I'm done writing, but some sections need polish, I would expect something in your mail by the end of the week. :-)
