Rummage

I started going through the boxes for the rummage sale, reminiscing about the old computer games, books and stuffed animals. I was making stacks of what I would salvage and what I would send off to someone else’s pile of acquired useless junk and all the while Odessa is waxing closer and closer to unconsciousness. By the time she had fallen ( Read more... )

I actually like my place full of scattered projects, papers, etc. I usually end up going back to them even if they have been dormant for years. It is cluttered, but at least you are reminded of the good and bad things about the past. At least that's the way I look at it.

I doknow that it is easy to fall into fantasy though. I know far too many people, and I've fallen into it at times too, who live their lives vicariously through the lives of fictional characters. I hope you can find something to drag you back to the real world.

I am also very glad to see that you are still alive.

I am indeed Alive and kicking! Fortunately I have a full time job and a very intrusive and caring family, so I could never fall completely off the deep end with the fantasy thing, but it has been bad before. For example, when my mother forced me to see the doctor and get on medication for my depression/Anxiety disorder, I wasn't even getting up until everyone else was asleep and I knew I could have the house to myself. I am not there now, but I can feel those familiar emotions and it weighs on my mind sometimes. Just kind of venting. It sometimes eases that.

How have you been, by the way? How is college going for you?

Good. Are you still with the day care place?

Been doing fairly well. Applying for real jobs, but still working on college. Had to drop one of my majors for the sake of keeping grades and sanity up. Been bits of rough patches with my mental health because some people think it's funny to mess with paranoid people, but my mind is still in one piece. Oh and I got to perform in the Vagina Monologues. Whoot.

That is great! That you got to perform in the vagina monologues not that your mental health had a rough patch... which is not great. Which Monologue did you perform? I was always partial to the "My Vagina is Angry..." monologue. It was a big hit in the performance that I recently went to see at Larissa's college.

Anyway... yes, I am still doing daycare. I am working with preschool kids at the moment: 4 and 5 year olds. The last stop before kindergarten and all the important things that entails. I really, really enjoy the kids, but (as usual) have trouble dealing with workplace drama and social hierarchy. I never was very good at understanding my own peer-group. Adults can be so tiresome, with their petty Adult-type squabbles.
