I recently removed ALL of my merchandise from the local vintage store I consigned with. The store is located in Denton, TX, and is called Circa 77. I removed my stuff because items keep getting stolen or broken, or they would go missing for a few weeks, and then magically reappear. wow. I'm sorry you had such a bad experience! I'm sorry you feel so sad. that really is unfair that she felt the theft of your goods was none of her concern. I especially dislike her trying to placate you with "theft is flattery" ... i've always disliked that whole way of looking at things.

i'm so sorry to hear this! i'd like to think this was a freak occurance but i see where you're coming from. also, it IS there responsibility since it's on their property. if it wasn't stores could use that excuse to keep items or just give them to friends without paying the artist for them. shesh. i hope you have more luck in the future.

i'm afraid that some of the stolen items may have been taken by the owners or their friends, but i have no proof of that. they also don't have a good system of keeping track of inventory or sold items (written on a legal pad), so it's possible some items were sold when someone besides the owners were working. there's really no way of knowing what happened.
