So many fascinating things I learn about the Catholic Church in this job...I'm gonna write a book. "The TRUTH about the Catholic Church and then some." I'm sure that book is already out and about.

It's been over 45 minutes and no response to my NPR question. With all of the liberals on my friends list...COME ON! You all disappoint me.

ROFL. Indeed, the Catholic church has a very interesting past. :) And I'd love to read the book - it'd probably be informative and not a poor attempt at spreading the knowledge through an intriguing mystery ala the DaVinci Code. Dan Brown'd have been better off just writing a textbook :)

And what section of the country/world you in? I might be able to help with the NPR question if you live in the Boston area :)

Ohhh, but I was referring to the church's present life! I have yet to read the Davinci Code. The hardcore Catholics I know who have read it weren't too happy about.

I'm in Philadelphia...close to

LOL. The DaVinci Code is a textbook, poorly written into a mystery novel. It pretty much discusses that fact that Constantine converted to Christianity to save Rome, and that Jesus's divinity was voted on by a council... all the wonderful truth behind the origins of the church.

It's also good in saying that while the origins of the church sure are manufactured, that the stories they "modified" to create the religion still are a good metaphor for existence :)

Ah, and you're in Philly: the stations that carry NPR are: WRTI-FM: 90.1, WHYY-FM: 90.9, and WXPN-FM: 88.5 (www.npr.org to search for stations). I think the middle of those three is the news section, while the other two seem to be publicly owned music stations.. best of luck to you :)
