On cardamom pods. Last year I finally figured out a quick way to get at the seeds when you need a quantity of them. Rolling pin! Cracks most of them, the skinnier ones may need another go when you have sorted out the cracked open ones. Why it took me so many years ...
and I am a cardamom addict.
I'm now trying a chili oil recipe that has cardamom in it.

Check out the 'Woks of Life' blog. its a fun read and they have lots of good recipes ... including several chili oil variations.
