So I got really good news the other day..I am actually happy with the State of Florida right now, surprisingly.

So, since I got a good GPA in high school, I've been getting the Bright Futures scholarship.. the one that pays 75% of my tuition at any Florida school. Which is awesome. BUT, the other day i got a letter stating that now it will pay ( Read more... )

Interesting! I got the 75% scholarship also, how long did it take for them to tell you that they're going to pay 100%?? Just the 75% isn't bad because if i get a loan to cover the rest, once I become a teacher in florida, they pay off my loan. Just in case though, I wonder if that happens with everyone that goes to a community college for an AA??

the 75% scholarship is called the Florida Medallion Scholar.. I got a letter in the mail that said, "congratulations, your Bright Futures scholarship has been renewed for the 06-07 school year" then at the bottom it said something along the lines of, "Legislature 2006 update: Florida Medallion Scholars that are attending a public community college and are seeking an associatesdegree now gets 100% tuition paid and up to $300 in lab fees"

so yep, that means you too! BUT just to make sure, you should check with your school and check with Bright Futures. yayyeeee
