Cat treatment update

It never ends.

Cally
It's 10 days since I ended Cally's last course of Metacam, and she's sadly reverted to nearly her previous state of discomfort. I had hoped for a longer honeymoon period, but it's not really surprising. Gave her a single dose tonight, and since it's only been a short time since the last course I won't do the loading phase (dosing every day) but will treat her every second day until she perks up again but before the nausea kicks in.

I had thought to myself after the last course that the next time she showed signs of needing treatment I would take her back to the vet for a review and maybe try something different. That time is now I guess, but I'm not mobile enough for the job.

When she's asleep her breathing sometimes becomes quite laboured. It's one of the symptoms that improves on the anti-inflammatory treatment, but I'm not quite sure how that works.

Pumpkin
Pumpkin is becoming too fluffy for his own good, and not in a good way. Let's just say I had to treat for dags by trimming the fur on his back legs and tail in an operation known as crutching. Overseas readers may require the services of google (hint: sheep). I'm still checking daily for hidden tangles, and might have to consider getting him partially clipped.

Princess
Princess has been scratching a lot today, and making a lot of distressed noises. She seemed to have a swelling over her left eye which has gone done a bit now. Not sure if it's cause or effect from her scratching herself, but it's been a problem spot before. I'd be less worried of she was just scratching at her ears, because I know how to clean them out now, but she's scratching around her neck and I have no new ideas for treating that.
