Have just returned from the annual x3 cat vet visit for flu shots and worming. Yes, worming only lasts for 3 months but I've been doing it this way for a lot of years and appear to be getting away with it. Also had everyone's claws trimmed at once by the professionals, to varying degrees of complaint.
Everyone has strong hearts and teeth, and are good weights. Apart from the common stuff we had each cat looked over for their special problems.
Pumpkin's weekly asthma attacks are not so frequent as to cause alarm. He received a gold star for his particularly clean ears. Age is creeping up on him and he's showing some of the typical weaknesses of his breed. He might also be a candidate for Cartrophan shots one day as he's showing possible signs of arthritis in his lower spine. Nothing urgent.
Princess' ears were deemed no worse and the current steroid course was approved (once every 7-10ish days, depending on scratching behaviour). The fat pad on her shoulder is still to be monitored, but it's only a problem if it suddenly grows dramatically. It's easy enough to monitor.
Cally had her usual monthly shot and has been promoted from a prognosis of a few months (prior to treatment) to "possibly a couple more years".
Thanks to Husband for chaufurrrring and cage carrying services. This annual trip is definitely a 2 person affair.
