It seems as though the stark reality of the mind-numbingly long Democratic Primary process is sinking into Hillary Clinton's staff's heads ( Read more... )

I am now hearing rumors in the local media the wonderful Republican legislature will be bringing up again the "seat all of our delegates or we will not put any Democrat on the November Ballot" nonsense that was being punted about a few months back.

That should go well with a potential appeal of what was decided today. Not that that would ever stand in court, but they might try it, and that might turn off just enough voters to swing things. Remember these are the rocket scientist who screwed this up in the first place, made it legal to shoot people on the streets, and spent precious time outlawing TruckNutz.

However it all works out, this election is going to be more screwed up than 2000 by a long shot

I wish Obama and Clinton would both just resign for the good of the party and let them nominate Sam Nunn or Gore or Kathleene Seibelius ....anyone but these two and this mess at this point.

Nunn, Gore, or Seibelius have a snowball's chance in Hell of winning the general election. Gore might be the only one of these three that would have a fighting chance. At this point, going against the quasi-will of the people like that would do more damage than the DNC RBC could ever do.

Yeah, that was sorta a joke. I really don't think Clinton or Obama would step aside, and Gore and Nunn are far to noble in character to ever step in not to mention I don't even think that is a possibility, unless I think after the first round of voting at the convention and there is no consensus.

But I do think that both campaigns have contributed to this mess

If only more people had been like me and voted for Edwards *sigh* :-)

Agreed. I find it particularly disconcerting that Clinton visibly only cares about Florida and Michigan when she is behind in the race. All her actions are unforgivably self-serving, and so Political with a capital P, that it appears to me that she is only fighting for this Presidency for another pin to stick on her lapel.

This is why I support Obama. While McCain has sacrificed his spine and soul towards gaining Conservative support (and stopped speaking out from a moderate view), and Clinton is in it for her own self-aggrandizing reasons, I feel Obama has the best intentions of anyone in the race. I mean, of course, no one knows what an Obama Administration will look like, what promises made this campaign will be broken, (as it is inevitable) I think he most embodies the change he calls for, and is an idealistic leader who is looking to unify the country, which, really, is the number one thing the U.S. needs right now.

I can't tell you how difficult it was being an Independent this season, especially when Oregon actually mattered
