So, one for the "cute but urgh..." files. Kit likes his cuddles, but he's decided that an integral part of a cuddle is a kiss, which is delivered by sort of head-butting you in the mouth with his part-open mouth. When said mouth is also liberally smeared around with marmite, it is a bit of an experience ( Read more... )

I seem to remember my brother being similar at that age. Someone told him kisses were for girls :s

I, on the other hand, detest Marmite.

Therefore, you can imagine the scenes in this house last week, for when I was on the phone to a Somewhat Important Person, doing a Very Delicate Call, where I was being as low key as possible... my darling popped a piece of marmite covered toast INTO MY MOUTH.

I did not scream (until after the call was over) but I did gag.

Yuck!

That is ... really a rather evil thing to do, and actually rather unfunny. Is your darling intact?

Yes, but only because I am a supremely good mother! And, after all, he didn't know I hate Marmite, and still doess't (he's too young and still not speaking). He just has a habit of when he's finished eating, and there is some left, giving it to you - direct! As I ws on the phonein another room to where he was having lunch, him poppoing in and getting up on the bed and pushing his left over marmite toast in my mouth caught me unawares.

He does full on the mouth kisses too, whcih I hate, never mind hate even more when he has marmite mouth!

I don't think Kit uses tongues, and I now live in fear of this happening. Thank you ;)

Marmite - can't stand it. When I was pregnant with Kit Alastair put the marmite knife into the dishwasher full of clean crockery - it all got washed again!

I do wipe his mouth dry though before letting him kiss me. As for the tongue thing - how old is your daughter? Can't you tell her the other person might bit it off - do it in a jokey way and it should work

Now, to a grandmother all kisses, marmite or not, are welcome, not to say precious. But I do like marmite, and so does Luca.
