I really miss singing. I miss being in a choir and I can't stand the thought of joining some church choir or the college choir as an alumna. We used to do really challenging pieces and sometimes I whip out my score and sing along with my CDs.

Hurrah choir! I don't have much of a voice either. I just concentrate on hitting the pitch/tone and blending in. that's what's awesome about choir! You don't need to stand out Aretha Franklin style: it's all about the power of cohesion. I do like hymns when done well. (Catholic white people NO SING WELL)(okay generalizing)
WOW she ONLY listens to classical? Holy crap. I can't recommend anything that she couldn't.
For choir I'd recommend Mozart's Requiem because it's punchy and it's not as fugue-y as Bach. I don't know much about classical music, so what little I listen to tends to be something I've sung.
Beethoven's 9th is something anyone can get into and sing along with. It's like Lady Gaga of classical. OH NOES I can't say that! :)
Do you like Opera? I am barely cognizant of it...
