Even Pregnant... Weight Is Still An Issue

Dec 17, 2009 08:50

I've gained 9lbs since my first doctors visit. (If you were obese at the start of your pregnancy, you should gain only 11-20 pounds over the nine months.) At my last doctors visit, where I gained 2lbs, my doctor finally had enough. She gave me a number to a nutritionist and basically told me that i'm gaining too fast. I'm only 4 months pregnant and ( Read more... )

I've been wondering how you're doing and how the weight gain is going. I'm really nervous about gaining weight once i get pregnant. How are you? I miss you! At least we keep up on FB now...

I know, i'm really bad at this LJ thing. I used to be so good too.

With the weight gain I had 2 things against me from the beginning. I felt like I should be eating more... so I did. Plus I had just quit going to weight watchers so I didn't feel guilty about eating those things I knew were bad for me.

Plus, I craved cheese flavored things... and i gave into them.

I think you'll be fine! You just have to think that you can continue to eat the same way as you do now. Everyone gains weight, and your doctor will keep things under control also. I wish I had someone over my shoulder telling me to take things easy. I just let go those first 2 months and nobody stopped me.

I weigh roughly ten pounds more then you, and would like to get pregnant, but I've always heard its not safe and that I should lose weight first, where there any concerns? and were you trying to get pregnant? my worst fear is that we'll just say ok if it happens it happens, and then losing it. sorry for so many questions.

Don't worry about the questions!!

My hubby and I decided that we wouldn't take any precautions on getting pregnant. We weren't trying, but if it happened good, if not, it didn't matter.

I was trying to lose weight before I got pregnant, so i guess that helps. There really were not that many concerns. Right now for my doctor the only concern is my current weight. She finally told me flat out today that she'd like to see me maintain this weight throughout my pregnancy and try not to gain much anymore.
