The loud cheering slowly died down as Jiyoung closed the door behind her. She walked to the small couch and let her body fall down tiredly, trying to catch her breath.
Sometimes, Kang Jiyoung wonders what she's doing with her life.
She's young, she's pretty, she's smart. She should be attending school like any other teenage girl. She should be having a blast in her high school life and going out with friends and maybe even finding love. She should be having a lot of fun everyday and being able to do whatever she wants. She's young, she's pretty, she's smart. So why the hell is she putting up with this tiring job of being an idol? She's always tired, hungry and she could barely attend school. She's losing her friends and is slowly losing her mind too.
Sure she's always wanted to become an idol. And she's really fortunate to be a part of now one of Korea's top girl groups but sometimes, Jiyoung can't help but to wonder. Is being an idol really worth everything?
Jiyoung felt a strong pull on her arm and her body crashed to another one's own. She looked up. "Unnie?"
"Tired, baby? We have a few minutes until our next recording. How about you rest for a while?" Gyuri asked her gently the older girl's other hand gently ruffled her hair.
"Unnie..." Jiyoung breathed out. Maybe being an idol isn't so bad after all. Jiyoung thought as she is reminded of why she's putting up with her job.
"Don't worry, I'll stay by your side." Gyuri assured her with a small smile and a peck to the side of her head. "Go on and rest." She whispered against her hair.
Jiyoung relented soon, she wanted to rest anyway, and leaned her body towards her unnie who securely wrapped one arm around her. Jiyoung looked up one last time and was met with another smile before she let out a peaceful sigh and closed her eyes.
Times like this remind Jiyoung why she stays being an idol. It's the warm and fuzzy feeling when she's being babied by the woman she looks up to the most. It's the overflowing feeling of happiness and warmth she gets when she gets any sweet actions or remarks from the same woman she adores so much.
And Jiyoung thinks then that being an idol is worth everything if being an idol means that she gets to see the same beautiful smile everyday.
