I'm not excited for work tomorrow. I don't think I've shared what I do with LJ yet - so here it is - I'm a billing receptionist for a company in the oilfield servicing industry. I work 9 to 5 Monday - Friday in the neighbouring town.

If David's phone really was stolen then I feel kinda bad for him, but irregardless of that: Laura should not have been punished at all. Why did they both get a slap on the wrist when she went to HR? Why the hell is she now being ostracized by the rest of the department? Grrr! I don't even know the people and I've got all mad about it. XD It's awful that she know feels like she has to go and find another job, but at the same time I hope she finds an awesome one and makes lots of money and can then laugh in everyone's faces. Bahahaha.

The people at my company are a little tight knit family.. Laura's still a newbie. I'm sure things were spun around to make it look like Laura was asking for it or something. HR isn't legitimate either, since clearly they didn't do their fucking job. The whole thing screams law suit but I think Laura just wants out. Since she's my only friend at work, too, I don't know how long I'll last without her, especially since it appears the company doesn't care about its people as a whole but rather individual interests. Laura's situation would have brought a lot of havoc had HR reprimanded David the way he should have been reprimanded.. I think think that's why it was a quick slap on the wrist and the rest of the effort was put into keeping it hush hush.

That situation is awful :/ I don't know whether to believe he got his phone stolen or not (that's a really common excuse unfortunately...) but the fact that they BOTH got yelled at for it is ridiculous. She did nothing wrong; regardless of whether it was David or David's friend who was sending the pictures, she was still being sent penis pics she didn't want! Plus you always hear of people high up in the company getting away with all kinds of shit just because they're rich and have influence. It sucks.

Difficult situation with Bruce! He did do really good things in the past and obviously tried his best to give Kyle a better life and that's all really, really great, but the stuff he's doing now is making Kyle's life (and yours) more difficult imo. The things you mention him doing would drive anyone crazy, especially if you have to deal with them on your own.

You guys look cute together! I hope you're reunited soon :)

I think it's just a bullshit excuse. I know of an instance where David tried to lick someone's nipple or something and got caught. He's the type who apparently goes 180 when he's drinking.. Business man at work and sick pervert at the bar. Maybe that's another reason why HR didn't really do anything, there's probably been similar situations before.

I know Bruce means well, but you're right. And I know Kyles embarrassed and worried about Bruce's drinking habits. It's not the first time he's had his license taken away. Last time we were visiting him, we got a nice call while we were out shopping that Bruce had been drinking and operating an ATV, which he crashed on his way home and ended up at the hospital. We can only be thankful he's never hurt anyone but himself. The whole situation is dreadful. Ahaha

Bruce... Oh dear :/ He may be father of the century, but he's not being father-in-law of the anything, is he?! I think you need to lay down some ground rules. Tell him that his behaviour is unacceptable! But don't do it while Kyle isn't there though, because Bruce could accuse you of saying something that you didn't. And it'll look like you're going behind Kyle's back. Actually, maybe ask Kyle to speak to him? He is his father after all.
