Ritu's party was way fun, well, except for the part when she went all racist and locked all her white school friends out of the party while her Indian friends sang to her and read speeches and applauded... LOL. Fun times, y'all, fun times ( Read more... )

It's not so much that I don't have a curfew as that I don't have a set curfew. As in, if I'm going to be out with people, Mom will yell a time out the door as I'm leaving that relates to what I'm doing. And as for the ball games, and things like that... she's cool with that if the game doesn't end till 10:30, and I told her we were going out afterwards (or that we might be), she knows to allow a half-hour for driving and then an hour or two for being out after the game.

She'd like me home by one or so, but if we were doing something where there's a reason it was so late, she's usually okay with it. For instance, when I've gone to 11:30 movie showings, I can come home wicked late. As long as I tell her beforehand, it's cool.

On the other hand, unless it's for a late showing movie or something, I'm not usually out much past one. If I am, it's because I was down in your area or something, and I just crash at someone's house, and don't go home anyway.

yeah, but stillllll.... see, still better than me and my parents being all, "MIDNIGHT. You MUST be home by MIDNIGHT." or sometimes it's, "You MUST be IN BED by MIDNIGHT." arrrggghhh.

geez. You must be IN BED? That's ridiculous. Man, I've had weird looks sometimes for staying up so late, but they don't say anything.

The one time they realized how late I stay up sometimes was when I forgot to switch the laundry around earlier in the night. So I did it when I went to bed, which was about 3:30 that night (my routine now is about 1 or 2). But anyway, this means the dryer was still running when my dad got up at 5 in the morning. They just didn't understand why I would stay up so late. Whatev.

Yeah, you're right. That really sucks for you. I'm sorry.

oh my gosh, parents. Be warned, you have just unleashed a whirlwind of wrath about them. lol. Mine don't trust me AT ALL. Or they claim they do, but don't do anything to, I don't know, prove it to me. It was a huge deal convincing them to let me go my friend Vikki's after prom and sleep over. Yes, there would be our dates there, but in the basement. And both of Vikki's parents were there. Or the hassle of me going to James' prom. Or letting me go to a lock-in at Vikki's youth group before the March for Life ("but we don't know anyone at that church"). I never did go to that lock-in. They didn't trust me for senior week, since apparently they don't think it's possible to go to the beach and just go to the beach, without sex, drugs, and hard liquor. When they went somewhere overnight for their anniversary in the fall, they got my aunt to stay with me. This despite the fact that I have never partied (in that sense of the word) and don't want to, have had A drink, once, with their permission, have never smoked or wanted to ( ... )

omg, my parents are the exact same way. forget the fact that i'm almost 19, my curfew is 11. it's awful. and it's weird because they trust steve more than they trust me. i've spent the night with steve, i stayed with him during beach week, they don't mind if we're out driving late, etc. but if it's me coming home it has to be 11, why? 1. because they're tired and can't sleep until i get home and 2. what if by some chance my car broke down and i got out of the car and some guy ran out from the middle of the woods and snatched me up and ran away with me (because i'm a girl and i'm small and sweet and scared yadda yadda yadda) then all they'd find is my abandoned car and my face would be plastered all over the news and my parents would be crying and wouldnt be able to sleep ever again and then they'd find my body weeks later chopped into little bits because apparently all the murderers and psychos only come out after eleven because...i don't know that's their hour and if i'm out on the road 1 minute past eleven, leatherface, freddie ( ... )
