Oh, well this is fancy, isn't it?  Hollis?  Did you make this?  I know you've got those clever fingers, I wouldn't be surprised to hear you --

[She looks around the room because she's sure he's there somewhere, and it's...not what she expected at all.  Lips purse in distaste, but she's determined to make the best of it.]

Eddie?  Nelson?

[No answer.   ( Read more... )

[The communicator has probably been running constantly since he figured out how to turn it on. So have a Spartan officer complete in armor and cape and general...impressive-ness.

He's out walking. Not really intending to send transmissions. But transmissions are going out anyway because technology what is that.]

[...Oh my. She'd been planning to actually leave the room and start looking for her friends, but...Well.

...Maybe it's another costume...?

Have a winning smile, Spartan!]

Hello, there. I'm sorry to be a bother, but I seem to have found myself a bit...out of sorts today. Have you seen a man dressed like an owl anywhere? Or someone in a hood, maybe?

A man dressed as an owl.

[He frowns. All of the frowning.] Such disrespect to the goddess Athena would not go unpunished but no. I have no seen an owl man or a man in a hood. I have seen several queens.

Well. He doesn't really look like an owl, but he's got the ears, and feathers, as long as you don't think about it too hard. And his costume's all in brown and yellow.

[An indignant huff and accompanying pout.]

There's no need to be so rude about it, I was only asking.

[Any counterpart of McCoy's is going to not be technology's bff, so it might have taken him a while to figure out exactly what to do with this thing, and is more or less treating it like a phone.

So enjoy some video of the side of a WWII army medic's head. :V]

Ma'am? I think you've got the wrong... number. [Wtf is this thing anyway. :|]

...And not to be rude, but I think you're holding it wrong? There's a window you can look through.

[All the cheery helpfulness!]

I didn't mean to call...? anyone at all, it just...turned on; I'm sorry if you were busy.

[Oops. He lowers the device and looks at it curiously before sort of settling on holding it correctly. Hi Sally.]

It's alright. You wouldn't happen to have any idea where we are, would you?

[There you are! Hello! Have a beaming smile, soldier.]

No, sorry; I've been trying to find that out myself. I think we're on a ship of some kind, but I couldn't tell you any more than that.

...Were you in a war?
