Yeah, I felt a little guilty thinking about the same thing--if Katrina did one good thing it's give the Republicans a shitty place to stand come '08. Of course, that will only be helpful if we actually get a decent democrat running. Cross your fucking fingers, eh?

Then again, this could just be another form of racisim couldn't it?

I think it's racism and classism.If they were rich black folks (not there there are too many of them...) they wouldn't have been as screwed either.

Ok so we all know I got the ass end of Bush's presidency. I get to sit in a country I don't like working with people I don't like to protect people who don't want protecting. So basically we started a needless war that we can't afford and that "rainy day fund" that Clinton so diligiantly put together is completely wasted on trickle down economics which as the Regan/Bush Sr. regime have demonstrated doesn't work. So what have we learned? Don't let Bush hold your wallet.
