I like Obama all right, so - but doesn't this feel a little... I don't know... premature? I mean, already? Initiative does not equal result, in my world. I just.. what? Hmm.
I see this as 2 things: 1. huge slap in the face to Bush administration 2. huge prod in the butt to Obama to actually get shiz done
It's not a carrot, it's a riding crop to the haunches, you know? Because now if he doesn't live up to the award, he'll have the shame hanging over him forever. Honestly, I kind of admire the prize committee for pulling this stunt, even though it's a pretty wild thing to do (and yeah, you don't usually give the athlete a gold medal until he's actually won an event).
Yeah, it seems awfully early. I mean, I don't hate him or anything. He just hasn't done anything deserving of the prize yet. Doesn't mean he won't, but he certainly hasn't yet.
Yeah, it's ridiculous. It's just the Nobel committee saying "DAMN we're glad you guys got rid of Bush!!"
If I were him, I'd be a bit embarrassed. Now what happens if he actually does something wonderful for peace? Does the committee say, "Well, we would give you the prize for brokering the Total World Peace Agreement, but we already kind of gave it to you for not being named George, sooo....
