DUDE SPEAK TO ME OMFG OMFG OMFG I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW.
I loved it - I know some people were not happy, but I loved the feeling of INEVITABLE-ness I got from it, like, of course that's what's at the top of the Tower. Of course. (I thought he'd meet himself, but in a much more... literal way. Heh.) I still kind of wish the various people who died didn't (WHAT DID EDDIE AND OY EVER DO TO YOU, YOU BASTARD) but it was supposed to be harsh and oh my god. *flails*
Yeah, I think there will be differences - the thing with the Horn of Eld implies that okay, he's not done yet, but there is at least hope that one day he will be. I like the idea that it's actually about Roland recognising that the Tower isn't the most important thing, that a symbol can't matter more than the thing it's representing and he can't let the ending get in the way of the journey... and ooh, maybe that's where the idea that he has to get there with all his tet comes in.
I kind of agree about Mordred, and poor Oy! Like, Jake's death sucked, especially cause Roland had finally actually admitted he might as well have been Roland's son, but it seemed to me to have more point that Oy's did. But mostly I just flailed because EDDIE NO. I love Eddie! And him and Susannah!
(Also did you find the Susannah bit freaky? I was all, but omfg what if she is dying in todash space and halucinating and no those are not real Jake and Eddie!!!!!1 about it.

Yes! You phrased it much more eloquently than I could, and yes, that's exactly what I thought, about his tet. And yes AGAIN, Oy's death only seemed to have a point because how could he go on when Jake was gone (no rhyme intended :p )? Otherwise just... wtf?
And Eddie, yeah... man. That didn't hit me as hard as it should have, because I had been spoiled for it, unfortunately. Just a stray "R.I.P Eddie Dean" in a comment field somewhere, but still. I was just waiting for it to happen. :/ But he'd grown so NICE, I didn't like him very much when Roland first drew him, but did he clean up nicely or what. ♥
Your Susannah point didn't even occur to me, heh. But now that you pointed it out, eeek! I felt more like it wasn't and won't be the real Jake and Eddie, because while it's, you know, genetically them or whatever, it's not
( ... )
you know, Hollywood has been trying to make that series into a movie set forever and a day now...can you imagine it? Oh and have you seen Avatar yet? If so let me know if its worth going to see today :D
Yes - and no. It had better be a GOOD adaptation, if it ever reaches the big screen. I have a feeling it'd easily turn out way too MELODRAMATIC on screen - I don't know why, I just have a feeling.
And no! I haven't seen Avatar, but I plan to. You go see it today, and then you tell ME whether it's worth watching or not. :D
I know. The funny thing is my husband and I were talking about it and it was one of the things I casually mentioned that I thought would suck, but in the end I liked!
