*giggles like a fangirl* brilliant.
JANUARY
1 » WEDDING DAZE
Worst movie I've ever seen in my life. But Isla Fisher is pretty cute ;)
1 » A TIME TO LOVE
A Chinese import, had high expectations for this film, being loosely based on Romeo and Juliet. However, it just fell flat for me. The whole movie was long and draggy and terribly boring. The ending of the movie brought no closure. The two leads are extremely pretty though.
1 » THE GREAT DEBATERS
Wonderful, wonderful movie. It was very touching and inspirational. Denzel Washington is just superb and the movie had fantastic character development.
8 » PARINEETA [MARRIED WOMAN]
Bollywood film! It's the story about a lifelong romance between Lolita (Balan) and Shekar (Khan)that is upset by the arrival of another man. Very mature and heartbreaking. The ending is a bit silly, but lovely nonetheless :)
14 » SYDNEY WHITE
A modern take on the classic fairytale Snow White. Amanda Bynes' movies are always good to me no matter how cheesy they are. She's just so hilarious with her googly eyes and cheeky grins. Matt Long is really nice eye candy too.
18 » CLOVERFIELD
I was in need of good monster flick. The movie does is a heart-stopping, adrenaline rushing adventure. The whole movie seems to be shot on a video camera and J.J. Abrams just does a fantastic job at piecing the footage together.
14 » EL ORFANATO [The Orphanage]
Horror movies are really not my cup of tea (and neither are little scary children!) but it was very engrossing. Unpredictable plotline too.
19 » THE LAST MIMZY
I watched this with my little brother and I must actually applaud the director. The storyline was pretty original minus the cliché happy ending in every child movie but overall I was immensely surprised at the depth of the messages the movie conveyed.
20 » THE REAPING
I really liked it. Hilary Swank just does it for me. Religion and horror just seem to go hand-in-hand. It's quite similar to the film
Bless the Child.
23 » THE JANE AUSTEN BOOK CLUB
Woot! I love Jane Austen ♥ And this movie was quite clever having modern characters whose lives mirror that of Jane Austen characters. It's a funny movie about real people, just like the ones Jane wrote about. Also A+ on the romance!
25 » 27 DRESSES
Nothing special... your average, predictable, sappy love comedy. Except it is safe to say I am IN LOVE with James Marsden ♥
FEBRUARY
6 » SILK
Probably one of my favorite Keira movies to-date. It's absolutely refreshing to see her in a movie where she's happy and content and god, just a beautiful and haunting performance on her part. And she dons a wonderful American accent. Alfred Molina and Michael Pitt star in this film as well. And pretty Asian girls :) A must-see but I suggest reading the book first before watching the movie.
8 » ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW
The most twisted movie I have ever seen... but it was an experience.
9 » STARTER FOR TEN
James McAvoy owns my heart. The movie was cute, a little boring at some points but the dialogue was full of cheekiness.
18 » MORTAL KOMBAT
Complete and utter waste of film.
19 » VALENTINE
One of my favorite horror movies. I love the whole generic slasher film plotline with a Valentine's Day twist.
19 » THE FOUR FEATHERS
An unjustly overlooked film with a stellar cast, fantastic plotline, and emotion so stirring that it brought me to tears. Seriously one of the best movies I've watched in a long time.
21 » ACR0SS THE UNIVERSE
In the same chord of 'Moulin Rouge' comes the visually-gorgeous, mind-boggling 'Across the Universe.' The vocals that Jim Sturgess lent were amazing. A little CGI heavy at times but very artistic. And I loved the fact it was a Beatle jukebox musical. Definitely recommend to any musical enthusiast.
22 » THE GAMEPLAN
What do you expect from a movie with an ex-wrestler and a talentless little eight-year-old? Disney has lost its magic.
MARCH
4 » THE OTHER BOLEYN GIRL
Very disappointing. The whole film deviated from the book's original intrigue and was reduced to bland direction. However, Natalie Portman delivered in her role as Anne Boleyn and Jim Sturgess was just perfection.
5 » ONCE
I finally watched it! An absolutely beautiful perspective on realistic love and the soundtrack that accompanied the story has me enthralled. In all its simplicity, a truly gorgeous film.
