OH MY GODDDDDDDDDDDDD my face hurts from smiling. I may never recover. I can now make my peace with Joss Whedon directing the Avengers because I got my Cap. :D

Omg his little COSTUME and then taking one of the dancers' helmets on his rescue mission and sdfkjs DADDY STARK OH YEAH.

Also Tommy Lee Jones was unexpectedly perfect.

Also, I went in expecting to have no feelings, at best, about Peggy/Steve because normally I'm irritated by how every superhero movie has to have the obligatory love interest, but OH MY GOD PEGGY/STEVE MADE ME TEAR UP AT THE END??? slkdjfsfsd "I had a date" ;____;

Only thing I was disappointed in: no Coulson! I really thought when all those SHIELD cars pulled up in Times Square it would be Coulson.

And YAY getting to see the Avengers teaser on a real screen! LOKI WITH LONG HAIR SDLJHSDSLJ dammit why is Loki so attractive

I started squeeing when I saw Stanley Tucci and NEVER STOPPED. Also, the brother-in-law and I agree that Steve and Bucky were obviously boyfriends. And OMG I ADORE PEGGY/STEVE. "I had a date" made me all heart-clenchy.

Also, SURPRISE NEAL MCDONOUGH AND HIS FABULOUS MUSTACHE. (My inner Trek geek was happy to see him.) *____________*

Pretty sure I was wiggling like a terrier on speed the whole time.

I had to laugh at Bucky trying to get Peggy's attention in that scene in the bar after the rescue mission? He was so foreveralone.jpg, it was strangely adorable.

Also: Cap doing a motorcycle jump out of an explosion = EVERYTHING I HAVE EVER WANTED IN LIFE, JUST TAKE ME NOW LORD

I have only ever seen Neal McDonough in Tin Man so I was like "who the fuck is under that mustache and hat? Why does he look so familiar? OH MY GOD IT'S THAT GUY!"

Fuck yeah! I was only expecting it to be okay, and it was absolutely fantastic! There aren't enough giant sparkly heart eyes in the world for this film, or his adorably stolen helmet, or daddy Stark trying to get his pimp on (and failing)!

Who are you supposed to be?
Captain America.
...I beg your pardon?

Hahaha I don't think they could have made a Cap movie I wouldn't have loved anyways but, you know, the fact that it was also GOOD was a major plus!

Daddy Stark, so smooooooth. With his dancing girls and his somewhat-flying car. And did you see the Avengers teaser? With Tony Stark slapping Thor's arm? Apparently, touching other dudes' muscles runs in the family.

Lolll it looks like McAvoy and Fassy in your icon are getting ready to judge me for how I answer this question. "IS SHE GONNA SAY IT WAS BETTER THAN OUR MOVIE :|"

Okay, so, I believe I am on record as saying that I was bracing myself for Green Lantern to be the least enjoyable comic book movie of the summer and yet even so it still managed to far exceed my expectations with its terribleness?

... BASICALLY CAPTAIN AMERICA WAS THE OPPOSITE OF THAT. I went in expecting to love it like the giant horrible Cap stan that I am, AND THEN IT WAS ALSO AN AWESOME MOVIE ALL ON ITS OWN! So basically: YES

yesssssss HIGH FIVE FOR GETTING THE JOKE

Green Lantern was... well, when it wasn't just plain turrble, it was soporific. And I too love Ryan Reynolds a lot, but he wasn't right for Hal Jordan (I see Hal Jordan as more of a Tom-Cruise-in-Top-Gun type douche, not Ryan Reynolds' particular brand of lovable douchiness). Actually I kind of regret paying money to see GL in the theater. And I own X-Men: Origins: Wolverine on DVD. That is how bad Green Lantern was.

YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY SEE CAPTAIN AMERICA THIS WEEKEND. It was sooooo good-- not as flashy as XMFC or Thor in some ways, and it starts off a little slow, but that just means when he starts doing the action hero stuff the movie has made him earn it, and you're just like CAPTAIN AMERICA FUCK YEAAAAAAHHHHH. Not like the one week training montage in First Class :| which I am not still bitter about at all :| no :| Anyways, Steve's superpower is basically adorable earnestness and an inability to give up, and Chris Evans did it really well and didn't make him a smarmy asshole or ( ... )

Haha what-- why would someone bookmark this stupid entry XD

Ugh I love Steve Rogers. Like, I can't even be cool about it-- I just LOVE HIM DEEPLY AND UNIRONICALLY. And I had sort of made my peace with the fact that he would probably be kind of douchey in the way that Chris Evans characters are usually kind of douchey, but then he totally wasn't at all. ♥_♥
