In O’Rourke’s essay “I Agree with Me” he talks about politics and the point to arguing. When I first read this I found it a little hard to follow. I don’t particularly like politics or choose to follow them, and seeing this essay has many politic references it made it more difficult to understand.

Much like yourself, I'm also not very into politics, therefore also found this article a bit hard to follow. I feel you have the right idea for the most part. More or less from what I understood of the article is how politicians tend to be narrow-minded. As for your question, I consider myself to be a very open-minded person, therefore agree that people should explore other opinions.

I do agree with you that it was hard to understand with all the politic talk and references to Amercian shows. to answer your question: it's human nature to listen to people who have the same opinions as you.
