Managed to snag last-minute tickets for tonight's match against Bielefeld. Was awesome to see the guys live in the stadium again - even if they celebrated the Meister in Wolfsburg already, the atmosphere in the Allianz Arena was fantastic tonight.
And the game wasn't so bad, either. Clearly Bielefeld deserves to be relegated, if this is the best they can play. *shakes head*
I'm crappy at game reviews, so will keep it short:
Kahn: was funny. during the game. for probably the first time in his life. Is approaching retirement causing him to go senile?
Toni: uh-oh. nothing really worked for him tonight. Maybe he's working on this form for the European Cup this summer? *hopes so* - Go DEUTSCHLAND!
Van Buyten: what a guy. Played his heart out. And made some offensive charges. Shows how much he loves the game. *would love to see more of him next season*
Van Bommel: very solid. Good passes.
Lucio: was Lucio.
Lell: had some good moments. Even if he is Lell.
Lahm: looking better, thank god. A few real world-class tackles. Super.
Demichelis: rode the bank. *sniff*
Sosa: ah dear, I really don't know what to say. Was poor in the first half - no creative passing, basically just stood around and got ignored by his teammates. And when they did pass him the ball, he did nothing worth mentioning with it. Which led to him being ignored. See the vicious circle here? 2nd half was better, he was more aggressive. But for 5 creative attempts, maybe 1 or 2 worked out for him. *is worried about if/how he will grow at Bayern...*
Poldi: what a guy. The only player who truly broke a sweat and tried in the 1st half, except for Van Buyten. Lots of good chances. Would be excited to see more of him next season.
After the game they had a special celebration for the fans - it was awesome! No dumping beer over each other... but very funny. First they showed a funny video where the guys said thanks (all the while playing practical jokes on each other in front of the camera, what a bunch of DORKS!)
Then they introduced the players by country. The lights in the stadium were down, one big spotlight on the FCB banner at centrefield *kicks self repeatedly for forgetting camera at home!!*
Altintop came in first, to some funky Turkish music
Van Buyten came in next, to some totally dorky Belgian song. *scratches head at who chose that one*
Van Bommel danced in like a Dutch flower girl to a totally goofy Dutch song, the whole stadium died laughing
at this point I started getting nervous about what music Demichelis would march in to
The Brazilians danced in to some Samba tune
at this point I had cold fear in my heart about what totally corny music Demichelis would march in to
And... Micho and Sosa danced in to "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" (was massively relieved)
Then our German boys came in to some random song about Germany I didn't even know
... and so on, and so on.
One really strange thing: For France, Ribéry came in alone. No sign of Willy anywhere. Which is really wierd - because EVERYONE else was there. Even Klose with his entire face wrapped up in bandages (poor Miro!)
What does this mean?
Is he already packing his bags for Milan?
Or is this the way he says thanks for being allowed to wear the Captain's band during the last game?
*is confused about Psycho!Willy*
OK - enough rambling. No pictures of the celebrations after the game on the net. And none from me, as I was too lame to remember my camera. But hell - the evening was great.
FC BAYERN - DEUTSCHE MEISTER!!!
