And Barca really played football like in the schoolbooks, it was beautiful to watch their plays unfold, and to watch their incredible precision. They even made it look effortless.
It was hard to watch my team get taken apart like that, but like I said to my husband, I just tried to ignore that it was Bayern down there, and enjoyed watching Barca. So I'm not upset that I went - it was actually a really incredible evening.

The loss, however, has made me really angry. Is that seriously my team? My team, giving itself up like that? It was a horrible evening and I can only imagine how bad it must have been in Barcelona itself.
Yeah, the stadium was incredible. And when they all sang, and waved those coloured cards... total goosebumps. It just made me mad that they put us all in a little thin strip along the top - it was impossible for us to sing or make cheers in any coordinated fashion, and it was depressing that we knew, our players on the field had no hope of hearing us. Totally different from Lisbon, where with fewer people, we made a whole lot more noise.
I am heartbroken over Bayern, though. You can say Klinsi Raus if you want - but the players looked so utterly uncapable of doing anything (especially Ribéry, who just stood around like someone who is bored waiting for a bus) and you have to wonder if these are guys who just can't be motivated???
I feel sorry for Rense. I guess this is the end of his career.
The result probably didn't help to get the cheering going, either :p Manu told me he slept for a few minutes during the second half - probably the wisest thing to do in that situation ;)
Seriously, I'm not just heartbroken, I'm absolutely, completely mad and so, so angry. It's bad enough that they said they weren't motivated against Wolfsburg because they were already thinking about Barca. But not being motivated in a game like this is simply unacceptable. I suppose Klinsmann made a lot of mistakes, as well... But if I were Hoeneß, I'd just kick out a lot of players - Lell, first of all, Oddo, Borowski, Podolski, Schweinsteiger, Ribéry... pretty much everyone who played the most horrible game of football I have ever seen with a Bayern team involved

I think you just put your finger on the problem. He tries a bit of this, he tries a bit of that... no wonder that the players, too, are frustrated as hell. I can imagine they need clear orders, clear goals.
And Ribéry? I could shoot him over the moon. You don't see it on TV - but in Lisbon, and in this match, he stands around a lot. Barca? You see Henry, Messi constantly running, putting on pressure, joining the match. Ribéry just waits for the ball to come his way.
I really, really hope Bayern gets their act together soon. I can stand them losing. But I'm not going to stand their not playing. Not for long.
