Wow, priorities? I wish I had some of these...

I can't offer more than an outsider's perspective to dreamwidth, but here's what I've got: It's somewhat similar to lj in the general idea, but varies in details: it's fandom friendlier and, judging from the faq there, trying to be more genuine/avoiding the things that have caused major outcries in the lj community (the strikethrough things, various commercial aspects like ads being placed where there shouldn't be any).

It seems a lot of people are moving there or have at least started a second journal parallel to lj; in the football fandom, I haven't seen anyone leave completely yet and it doesn't look like that's going to happen any time soon. Other fandoms? No idea. Me, I'm going to stay here unless forced - shows once again that I'm too lazy/unpolitical both in RL and online ;-)

Thanks for your dreamwidth description - that sounds interesting!

I have to agree with you, though, I'm pretty apolitical when it comes to websites and communities - I'm pretty selfish in grabbing the functionality I want/need and ignorning the rest. I know people are totally up in arms about facebook, but I just don't put personal data on it and use it anyway - all my friends are on it!

But - I may start one for "clean" creative writing, later this summer (I may be delusional, but am clinging to a dream of less work this summer...) if so, I'll let people know.

Busy, busy, ey? *hugs* hope you do find some time for yourself, to reload a bit, you know what I'm saying? ;-) (yes, mum)

Dreamwidth looks interesting IMO, and for now it doesn't seem to be infested with hysterical fangirls yet, hahaha. I'm not fleeing LJ or anything, I see DW as an additional journal and am not sure what to do with it yet XD

OK Mummy, I promise... :D

I can't complain though - my clients are great, and the work is fascinating. And I'm enjoying the challenge - it's an awesome feeling to do something really difficult, as opposed to just piles of average boring work!

I do plan on slowing down next month, though - wish me luck!

No hysterical fangirls yet on Dreamwidth? Look out, here I come! Just kidding... I think I may check it out. Who knows?

*big hug from Munich*
PS - let my paid subscription expire, and somehow only wierd icons made it to my short list... add "re-arrange LJ icons" to my list of things to do! *sigh*

I hope you enjoy being so busy with work, but I must say you don't sound unhappy :)

Dreamwidth? Wow, that just goes to show how out of everything I am these days... I've never even heard of that :D So I'll definitely stay here. I don't do much blogging anymore these days, anyway, so moving journals doesn't seem to make much sense.

Nope. Not at all. The projects are really interesting, my clients are fantastic, and I really enjoy what I'm doing - the only problem is the amount! But honestly, I wouldn't want it any other way right now.

And the weather is really making me happy this year, I'm totally enjoying being outside in the sunshine reading a book, during the bits of free time I manage to grab.

Hope this spring/summer is a good one for you...

As long as you're happy and your body can keep up with it, go ahead and work as much as you want to! :)

Speaking of reading - have you noticed there's a new chapter of Invictus? :)

I don't know if you've followed my journal recently, but it seems that this summer is indeed going to become a good one...

NO! I totally missed that... will look it up when I get some time to myself to sit down & read & enjoy....

Hello, darling!
I miss you so much!
How are you? Hope everything's good with you.
Huh, what's Dreamwidth?
I'm so outdated.

Oh, and about Bayern's fate, I'm leaving everything to the hands of the gods.
That team just drives me nuts.
I love them even more. ^^

Miss you too...

and Bayern? I could bang their heads against the wall. If I didn't like them so much...

Will be thinking of you Saturday - can you watch live, or is it in the middle of the night for you?

Hi, darling.
Yeah, was able to watch the match.
Good for us that we still managed to place second.
The CL berth is the most important thing for now.
And I'm pleased that we got it.

Oh dear, I'm sorry you're so busy - but as long as you're having a good time, it's okay, I suppose. ;) I still miss you loads and I hope we can meet up again soon! *clings*

Dreamwidth is basically a blog network like LJ, based on LJ code, but as sweetestremedy said, it's a bit more user friendly, especially for members of fandoms. Also, it has the awesome feature of importing LJ accounts (including posts, comments, tags, flist groups, usericons, etc.).

I for my part have a Dreamwidth account but I'm not planning on leaving LJ at all. I like it far too much here, and it's highly unlikely that all my friends would do the move with me anyway. ;) I see Dreamwidth as a means to backup my LJ journal in case something happens. I wouldn't want to lose all my entries. :)

So unless you really want to have a Dreamwidth account, I'd say there's no need to panic, you don't have to move, and when you come back everyone will still be here. ;)

*sigh* I miss you too... still sorry it didn't work out that couple of Saturdays ago.

I'm very busy - but as I said to a friend at a party last weekend: I honestly love what I do. My clients at the moment are great, the subject matter is a real challenge, but also rewarding. So I don't really mind being busy!

A few more weeks of this, then I'll take some time off. No real chance to catch up here, but at least to start again.

Thanks for your comments on Dreamwidth - good to know that I'm not missing anything. I may check it out later this summer, as I'm toying around with doing an, uh, "clean" writing journal, and it might be nice to have a "safe" place to keep that separate.

Hope you're well! *squishes you*
