Unfortunately the only girl I know who had one and I don't talk anymore. I know it was a pretty big deal for both her and her sister, but I didn't learn much of the details.

that is the same as a sweet 16 party. It is kind of like a girl to womanhood initiation. I talked to a couple of my hispanic colleagues and that is the way they described it.
